Default Game causes computer to restart.

Hi, I've searched and searched through the forums, yet none of the solutions have worked for me, so I thought I'd start a new thread.

When I run Guild Wars my computer will restart automatically after 4-5 seconds on the login screen, with no error message at all. I have tried various things such as making sure there is no overheating, updating drivers etc, yet the problem still persists. The problem mostly occurs when running Guild Wars, however it has also happened when the computer has been left idle. Not sure if this will help, but my system specs are:
Intel Pentium D CPU 2.66GHz
ASUS P5VD2-MX
Radeon X1600 series
SoundMAX HD Audio O
1Gb RAM

Hope that's enough, I'm not that good with computers. >.<
Any advice is appreciated.

if it does it at other times than while playing GW then its not specific to GW so it sounds like it is most likely a hardware problem I would suggest checking to make sure your Power Supply is supplying enough power and to make sure that your system isn't overheating.

not sure on how to check power issues but to check overheating try taking a side off of your PC and setting a small fan beside it and see if that seems to "help" or stop the problem...doh just reallized you said you already checked your overheating..hrm but I still must say that it is probably something with your hardware. not sure what tho :P

This happened to me just a few days back. And i solved it all you need to do is to download a GFX accelator ( making sure its for your card ).

And you should be fine . ( sorry i have no sites due for me forgetting to remeber them sorry )

Updating/using the correct software drivers for your videocard can be a solution yes.

Overheating is a possibility also.

The PSU staring to give up can also be the problem. Now this I am not sure how to check except with expensive equipment or changing to another powersupply.
